One of the town’s many attractions are the passenger cruises provided by Żegluga Augustowska (the Augustów Shipping Company). It is one of
Poland’s few shipping companies providing cruises for passengers on board the so-called “white fleet”. During the tourist season it serves around 100,000 passengers.
Seasonal operation is the characteristic of Żegluga Augustowska. The ships cruise their routes for six months in a year. Apart from regular cruises there are special cruises, night cruises, and entertainment events. Wedding parties and various other celebrations are also held on board. Each year, there are new, exciting cruises to choose from. The main travel route of the “white fleet” is the
Canal. It links together all large lakes around Augustów, thus forming an interesting water trail.
