The Tourist Information Centre is located in the town centre in a new building at 44 Zygmunt August Market. The Centre is open Monday to Friday from
8 AM to
4 PM. In May, June, and September, it is open from
8 AM to
5 PM on weekdays, and from
8 AM to
3 PM on weekends and holidays. In July and August, when tourist traffic is highest, the Centre's opening hours are even longer. During these months it is open from
8 AM to
8 PM on weekdays, and from
10 AM to
6 PMon weekends and holidays.
We are ready to provide all necessary help and information concerning Augustów and the region. This is where tourists may receive brochures and folders with information on the region’s accommodation base, as well as town plans, and train and coach timetables (PKP and PKS). Maps, guides, and souvenirs are also available here.
The place also features a HotSpot where tourists may use the computer and surf the Internet free of charge.
In 2005, the Polish Tourist Organisation decided we were the second-best tourist information centre in
Poland. The jury of the competition considered, among other criteria, the facility’s location and availability to disabled tourists, opening hours, personnel qualifications (including their command of foreign languages), as well as the range and comprehensiveness of information provided.

PASSENGER CRUISES
One of the town’s many attractions are the passenger cruises provided by Żegluga Augustowska (the Augustów Shipping Company). It is one of Poland’s few shipping companies providing cruises for passengers on board the so-called “white fleet”. During the tourist season it serves around 100,000 passengers.
